At Rashid and Latifa School (RLS), we believe that education is the foundation of visionary leadership.
We proudly invite talented students entering Years 7–9 (ages 11–14) to apply for the 2026/27 Scholarship Programme. This initiative is designed to support high-potential learners from across the UAE; both Nationals and Residents, who demonstrate academic excellence and strong character.
RLS maintains a selective admissions process, creating an environment that nurtures outstanding talent and future leaders. Guided by Emirati leadership and supported by global expertise, the school delivers an enhanced National Curriculum of England enriched with UAE values. With small class sizes, students receive personalised attention that empowers them to thrive academically and personally, preparing them to graduate as changemakers ready to contribute to Dubai, the UAE and the wider world.

Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders
Before completing the registration process, parents are required to review all relevant information available on this website.
This includes details about our curriculum and the Year vs. Grade system, the Scholarship Guidelines and Eligibility Criteria, the scholarship fee coverage, and insights into our learning spaces and wider school community. We also encourage parents to familiarise themselves with the key dates and admissions timeline. Understanding this information is essential to ensure you are fully informed before proceeding with your child’s application.
Please note that completing the registration does not guarantee a place at Rashid and Latifa Schools. Admission to the scholarship programme is highly selective and only the most qualified and well-aligned applicants will be offered a seat. RLS is committed to academic excellence and seeks students who demonstrate discipline, strong potential and a readiness to thrive in a rigorous and values-driven learning environment.

Year and Grade Equivalency
A clear guide to ensure your child’s correct placement
For families transferring from schools that follow the Grade System, RLS provides a clear equivalency guide to help determine the correct placement for each child. This ensures a smooth transition into the Year System and guarantees that students are both academically and socially well-positioned to succeed within our community.
What’s the Difference?
Year System | Grade System |
---|---|
Commonly used in British schools | Used in UAE Federal, American, and Canadian curricula |
Begins with FS1 and ends with Year 13 | Begins with Pre-KG and ends with Grade 12 |
Students graduate after Year 13 | Students graduate after Grade 12 |
From Grade to Year System
If your child is transferring from a Grade-based curriculum to the Year-based system at RLS, please note:
- The KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority) has set clear placement equivalencies.
- For example: If your child completes Grade 5 in the 2024–2025 school year, they will enter Year 7 in 2025–2026.
(Year 7 is equivalent to Grade 6 in age and academic stage.)
Note for Parents: Transferring from the Grade system to the Year system does not mean your child will spend extra time in school. Both systems follow different structures, but students graduate at the same age and academic level.
From Year-to-Year System
If your child is already in a British-style school, they will simply move to the next year level.
For example: A child in Year 6 in 2025–2026 will enter Year 7 in 2026–2027.
